Notes
Cookie note
There is very little to report here, which is the point. The site sets no tracking cookies, carries no advertising and loads no third-party scripts, so there is nothing watching you read.
The one value we store
When you answer the banner at the foot of the screen, the browser stores a single value locally so that the banner does not reappear on every page. That is the only thing this site writes to your device.
The value records nothing except your answer. It carries no identifier, it is not sent back to the server, and it cannot be read by any other website.
What we do not use
No analytics of any kind, so we do not know how many people read a given entry or how long they stayed. No advertising tags, no social media buttons that phone home, no embedded players, no fonts pulled from somebody else's server.
This has a cost: we genuinely cannot tell which entries are useful, which is why the form and the telephone matter to us. If something here helped, tell us, because nothing else will.
Server records
The hosting keeps ordinary technical logs of requests, as all hosting does, for security and fault finding. Those records are not linked to form submissions and are not used to build any picture of a reader.
We do not export, analyse or retain copies of those logs for our own purposes.
Clearing what is stored
Clearing site data in your browser removes the stored value, and the banner will ask again on your next visit. Private browsing has the same effect once the window is closed.
Refusing the banner does not limit anything. Every page, every entry and the form all work exactly the same way either way.
Forms and browser autofill
The form keeps nothing on your device. If your browser offers to remember a name or a telephone number, that is the browser's own autofill feature and it is under your control in the browser settings, not ours.
What you send through the form is covered by the privacy note, including the twelve month limit on how long we keep it.
If this changes
If the site ever needs something more, for example a value to remember a reading preference, it will be listed on this page before it is used, and it will still not be a tracking cookie.
Any question about this note can be put to us on the telephone number at the foot of the page, and we will answer it in ordinary words rather than in legal ones.
