What we do, and what it costs in rand

All prices are indicative and quoted in rand, before any travel outside the metro. We work for the person reading, not for a stand, and nothing on this card can be bought by an exhibitor.

Hall walk-through plan

Before a show, we go through the exhibitor list and the hall plan with you by phone and mark the stands worth your time, with a walking order that suits your knees and your questions.

  • Marked hall plan sent to you
  • A written walking order for four hours
  • Six questions drafted for stand staff
from R450 indicative
Accompanied floor visit

We walk the hall with you for half a day, sit in the cars you shortlist, measure boots and seats, and keep the notes so you can concentrate on the cars rather than the clipboard.

  • Four hours on the floor with you
  • Seat and boot measurements written up
  • A one-page shortlist the same evening
from R1 650 indicative
Concours lawn briefing

A briefing before a coastal lawn event so you can read the classes, follow the judging and know what the clipboard rewards. Useful for visitors and for owners showing a car for the first time.

  • Class structure explained in writing
  • A checklist of twelve judged details
  • Advice on display order and timing
from R700 indicative
Long-run comfort check

We drive your shortlisted car type on a fixed Eastern Cape loop, including the Van Stadens crossing and a stretch of patched tar, and report on seat support, wind behaviour, noise and aircon recovery.

  • A loop of about 180 kilometres
  • Noise and aircon notes at three points
  • A plain verdict on three hours of seat time
from R1 900 indicative
Hire arrangement advice

Help setting up a two-day hire of the type you are considering, with the fine print read properly: excess, waivers, tyre and glass exclusions, tracker rules and the gravel clause.

  • Three quotes compared line by line
  • The exclusions marked in plain English
  • A collection checklist for the counter
from R400 indicative
Shortlist review

You send us the two or three cars you are weighing up and your actual yearly kilometres, luggage and passengers. We come back with the running-cost arithmetic and the questions still unanswered.

  • Service and tyre cost arithmetic
  • Boot litres tested against your luggage
  • A written list of what to confirm before signing
from R850 indicative

Travel beyond the metro is charged at R5.20 a kilometre indicative, from Parliament Street and back. Work at a lawn event on the R72 therefore usually carries a travel line; we quote it before we start, never after.
